Picture Dictionary or Alphabet book
Choose a theme for a classroom alphabet book. (animals, sports team, nature, the school etc.)
Each student is assigned a letter of the alphabet. The student draws the letter at the top of the page. On the page the student must draw a scene with as many words that begin with that letter of the alphabet. It can be an “I Spy” kind of page, or a scene. This can work for alliteration or for vocabulary development.
Colour copy each of the pages so that each student can have his own book. Laminate the pages and bind them into a classroom book or a book to put in the school library. Don’t forget to dedicate the book and to include all of the authors’/ illustrators’ names.
